Cambodia is a country with one of the highest incidence of HIV/AIDS in East Asia. In the last two years the number of women living with HIV/AIDS in the region had risen by 56%.
Access to antiretroviral treatment is slowly increasing and a few patients like Phala are put on treatment. Phala, 24 is a former restaurant worker who lives with her mother and son, in the outskirts of Phnom Penh. She has been on treatment for a month and is gradually gaining strength with each day on treatment, coming back to her normal life.
