The International Civil Servant Commission (ICSC) workshop was held in GSC from 16 - 27-MAY-2016 in GSC. This meeting is held to discuss the implementation of the Revised Compensation Package for staff in the Professional and Higher Categories, as set out by the ICSC review. What does this mean for GSC? GSC primarily uses the Global Management System (GSM) to process transactions in the areas of Human Resources and Payroll, Payments, Supplier Management, Procurement, Travel. These changes would impact our Global Management System (GSM) which is essentially WHO's Enterprise Resource Planning System, or ERP. Understanding the current system and envisioning the layout of the change is important in ensuring a smooth transition. The changes in the system are to take effect as of 2017.

The WHO Global Service Centre is now accredited as an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Approved Employer – Trainee Development Platinum level. The ACCA Award ceremony was held on 24-FEB-2016. Obtaining the ACCA Approved Employer status provides formal recognition that the organization is committed to providing learning and development opportunities to its finance staff; provides an accessible global standard which enables organizations to compare their learning and development support against a global benchmark; provides several ACCA-related benefits to ACCA trainees (e.g. credits for mentoring on the job), and this can significantly help the organization attract and retain qualified staff members.
