Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities SharePoint

The Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities (GNAFC) SharePoint online platform has been created for:

  • Sharing approaches.
  • Enhancing access to knowledge.
  • Linking experts.
  • Facilitating collaboration.
  • Promoting learning.
  • Strengthening partnerships.

It also gives network members access to all GNAFC-related materials which are continually being updated. The web site is maintained by the Department of Ageing and Life Course (ALC). If you wish to become a GNAFC member, please fill in our online Application Form (available in EN, FR and SP):

How to register for the GNAFC SharePoint online platform

For those outside WHO Geneva (including Regional and Country Offices):

  • Click on the following WHO Application Directory Service (ADS) link:

  • Follow the instructions provided on the ADS website to create a new ADS account. You will need to fill in your contact details and create a new username (we recommend Familyname + Initial, i.e. John Smith = SmithJ with no spaces or random characters).

  • You will then receive an automatic email from confirming your registration. To activate your account you must open the automatic email and click on the confirmation link. Please note: You have 48 hours to complete this step, otherwise, your registration won't be activated.

  • Once this is done, you will receive a notification saying that you can access the GANFC SharePoint platform by clicking on this link: Use the prefix "ADS\" to your username when logging in. For example, if the ADS username is "smithj", type "ADS\smithj" in the "username" field. We suggest you save the open web page to your favourites or bookmarks to simplify future access.

For WHO staff in Geneva, (who already have a Synergy account), you do not need to create an ADS account as described above.
