Side event on ageing and health at 64th World Health Assembly

The world population is rapidly ageing, presenting both challenges and opportunities for health systems, economic development and societies. Germany seized the opportunity of the 64th World Health Assembly to host a side event on "Preparing health systems for an ageing world", 18 May 2011. A panel of distinguished speakers outlined the experience of population ageing in both developed and less developed countries and WHO's response.
