FAQ for the Access to Medicines Call

Question: What is the time limit to submit Expressions of Interest on 18 June 2012?

Answer: Expressions of Interest should be submitted via email to alliancehpsr@who.int on 18 June 2012 before midnight Geneva time (GMT +2).


Question: Can funding under this grant be used to purchase medicines?

Answer: No, the budget provided under this grant cannot be used to purchase medicines.


Question: Is it possible to combine this grant with another source of funding?

Answer: Yes, combining this grant with another source of funding is possible as long as:
1. The budget distribution is clearly defined and distinct.
2. The co-funding does not create a conflict of interest and does not compromise the independence of the research.
Please note that co-funded applications will not be given additional credits.


Question: Is it possible to act as a principal or co-investigator in more than one proposal?

Answer:Yes, involvement in multiple submissions is acceptable, granted that all eligibility criteria are met as outlined by the call.


Question: Is my country eligible to submit an Expression of Interest?

Answer: The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research uses the 2011 World Bank Country Classification to classify countries in low- middle- and high-income groups. Please consult the World Bank Country Classification Table. You will be able to submit an Expression of Interest if your country is classified in the group of low- or middle-income countries according to World Bank Classification. Organizations in high-income countries are not eligible to apply, but can be listed as collaborators in the application.
