The end of antibiotics?

The World Health Organization, in partnership with Intelligence Squared and the Wellcome Trust, are bringing together an international panel of speakers from science, agriculture, food production and consumer activism, to discuss what is being done and must be done to reverse the global threat of antimicrobial resistance. The event will take place on September 14th at the New York Academy of Sciences, one week ahead of the high level United Nations meeting on the subject. Join us and join in the discussion.


Ira Flatow, Chair
Award-winning radio and television journalist and author, who hosts Public Radio International’s popular program, Science Friday.

Stefan Larenas
President of Odecu, the Chilean Consumers’ Organisation. He has long campaigned for higher standards and better labelling in the Chilean meat and fish industries.

Tim Spector
Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at Kings College London and author of The Diet Myth: The Real Science Behind What We Eat. He has worked extensively and pioneered research on the human microbiome.
