Onchocerciasis status
Early mapping of onchocerciasis in Kenya showed that the disease was present in a few areas, but at low, hypo-endemic levels. Kenya was not therefore considered a priority area for the APOC strategy of mass ivermectin treatment, but was encouraged to establish clinic-based treatment.
