Year 2010 progress report of WHO/APOC
Overview
This report presents the achievements and challenges of APOC from September 2009 to August 2010. Highlights include:
- the achievements of communities and the national onchcocerciasis task forces (NOTFs) in delivering ivermectin and other health interventions using the community-directed treatment (CDTI ) approach
- capacity building in countries
- sustainability of the CDTI approach, including monitoring the implementation of CDTI sustainability plans
- Moving from Control to Elimination of Onchocerciasis where Feasible
- Integration of onchocerciasis control in national health systems and co-implementation of multiple interventions
- Co-Implementation of Cdti with Other Health Interventions
