World Health Day 2012, 7 April - Ageing and health: Good health adds life to years
Denmark, 1968. About 1400 aged people live in « Old People’s Town », a district of Copenhagen belonging to the municipality. They are under constant supervision of the medical staff attached to them. As a new form of geriatrics therapy, a jazz-ballet group was started under the direction of Mr D. Crutchfield and the first results seem to be encouraging: some of the participants in this group, aged 80 and more, indeed said that they «felt, during these bi-weekly lessons, as if they were in their twenties again».
