Sources available in the Archives

WHO has taken over the task begun by its predecessors and is engaged in a relentless effort to control tuberculosis. Numerous documents from different fonds testify to that effort:

  • Archives of the Office International d'Hygiène Publique (OIHP)
    Studies and reports on tuberculosis by OIHP dating from 1917 and 1919 have been conserved. For further information, consult the inventory.
  • Centralized files
    The "Centralized files" contain numerous documents on tuberculosis: correspondence, collaboration with associations, expert committees, research, immunization and vaccination programmes, situation reports from the regions, etc. For further information, consult the contents of the inventories of the sub-fonds.
  • "Project Files" Archives
    This fonds contains numerous documents on tuberculosis control and vaccination at the national level.
  • Photographic Archives, Sub-fonds Photographs
    This sub-fonds contains photographs on tuberculosis in the different WHO Regions: Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Pacific. For further information, consult the list of photographs by subject.
  • WHO Media and Film Archives
