Africa project on palliative care

“A Community Health Approach to Palliative Care for HIV and Cancer Patients in Africa” is a joint project among five countries - Botswana, Ethiopia, United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe – and the World Health Organization (country, regional and headquarters offices). The main goal of this project is to improve the quality of life of HIV/AIDS and cancer patients in sub-Saharan Africa by developing comprehensive palliative care programmes with a community health approach.

The first phase of this project has been completed and a report will be available shortly on this website.
