Scientific exchange on radiation medicine

The CC for Radiation Emergency Medical Preparedness and Assistance Clinic of Nuclear Medicine, University of Wuerzburg, Germany, is a part of the WHO REMPAN network since 2003. The CC is very active in the network activities and has recently launched a scientific exchange platform through biennial seminars.

The 2nd International Seminar “Radiation Medicine in Research and Practice” held October 4-5, 2007 in Wuerzburg, Germany, was organized jointly with Russian CC for Diagnosis and Treatment of Radiation Sickness and hosted some 70 international participants from Russia, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Norway, Austria, Hungary, the Ukraine, Switzerland, Japan and the US. The Seminar reviewed the latest developments in the medical management of radiation injuries. It provided a forum for advanced education, international scientific exchange, and discussion on lessons learned from practical experience of participants with different backgrounds.
