Information for WHO Collaborating Centres

Electronic reports and applications

Since 1st June 2007 WHO has put in place a new electronic system (eCC) to process the redesignations of the WHO Collaborating Centres. This new system replaces the current paper-based Redesignation Form and Annual Reports.

The eCC system will allow for a seamless, on-line and a “paperless” environment which will decrease the time currently spent with the paper-based manual process. It will also allow documents to be submitted in a timely manner to the right person.

The process itself remains unchanged. All Collaborating Centres are requested to submit a short and concise annual report on the activities of the agreed work plan. When a new year of designation is completed, the eCC system will automatically send you an email asking you to provide such report. Only those report submitted using eCC will be accepted.

Also, if the period of designation of a Collaborating Centre is to be extended, a few months prior to the expiry date of the designation, the centre will receive an email inviting you to access the eCC system and complete an on-line Redesignation Form. Hard copy submissions are not longer accepted.

For the eCC system to work it is essential that the email address of the centre is correctly written in our database: http://www.who.int/whocc
Please let the WHO Officer you usually work with know of any required changes or updates as soon as possible.

If you have difficulties using the system, please go to Frequently Asked Questions

Please note the information contained in this page is intended for existing WHO Collaborating Centres only. Spontaneous applications are not accepted. All WHO Collaborating Centres are designated by the initiative of a WHO Department after successful completion of several years of collaboration with WHO in carrying out jointly planned activities. This means that WHO only considers for designation institutions with a long and solid history of contribution to WHO programme activities.
