Nursing and Midwifery

The Global Network of WHO CCs for Nursing and Midwifery Development

This network works toward the maximization of the contribution of nursing and midwifery in order to advance Health for All in partnership with WHO and its Member States, member centres, NGOs, and others interested in promoting the health of populations.

The network carries out advocacy and evidence based policy activities within the framework of WHA resolutions and the WHO programme of Work. It has an independant rotary secretariat currently based at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Community Health at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK.

The 13th biennial meeting of the network was held on 5-6 June 206 and was attended by representatives from 27 countries.

On 5 October 2004, Her Royal highness the Princess Royal, Princess Anne officially launched the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Community Health at Glasgow Caledonian University as the secretariat of the Global Network of WHO CCs for Nursing and Midwifery Development.
