Dr Peter Eriki, the WHO representative in Nigeria, formally handed over a consignment of anti-TB drugs to the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof Babatunde Osotimehin.
WHO hands over anti-TB drugs worth 1.7M dollars to Nigeria
In a ceremony held on August 7, 2009, Dr Peter Eriki, the WHO representative in Nigeria, formally handed over a consignment of anti-TB drugs to the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof Babatunde Osotimehin. The drugs, a donation to Nigeria from the Global Drug Facility (GDF) worth $ 1,75 million dollars, will cover the treatment of over 30,000 TB patients, including children.

WHO Country Office Nigeria Annual Report
The year 2007 was another successful one for the health sector in general and for the work of WHO with Government and partners in improving the health of Nigerians. The 51st National Council of Health, held in November 2007 was rightly christened ‘Creating wealth through health’ and Government and partners continue to make efforts to actualize this slogan within the year. This report chronicles some of the efforts and achievements of WHO in supporting the country in 2007 in this regard.
