Disease Outbreak Reported
An outbreak of cholera has been reported in the southern part of the town of N'Djamena as well as in 7 villages on the main route going south.
Between 3 and 30 June 601 cases with 51 deaths had been reported. A crisis committee was set up and a plan of action formulated to control the epidemic. The WHO Representative is collaborating with the health authorities in organizing the control activities and supplies necessary for treatment.
