2002 - West Nile virus in Canada

As of 11 September 2002 the
National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg has confirmed West Nile virus
infection in a person living in the province of Ontario. This is the first
confirmed case of human disease reported from Canada. Although West Nile virus
is circulating in Ontario and other provinces, this case is possibly related to
travel in areas of the United States.
