Pandemic influenza A(H1N1) - draft donor report
As the leading international agency for human health, WHO led the global response to the 2009 outbreak of pandemic influenza A (H1N1). Thanks to the generosity of many donors, WHO headquarters, regional offices, and country offices were able to move rapidly in coordinating global responses and limiting the effects of the pandemic. This draft report is not meant to evaluate WHO's response, but summarizes the work of the Organization during the pandemic to those who contributed to our efforts.
An independent evaluation of the Functioning of the International Health Regulations (2005) and on WHO's response to pandemic influenza A (H1N1) is underway by the IHR Review Committee and will be reported at the World Health Assembly in May 2011.
