At the Pasteur Institute in Antananarivo, Dr Lila Rahalison shows Dr Lee a rapid diagnostic test for plague that she helped to develop. When detected early, plague is easily treated with antibiotics. In April 2006, Madagascar is hosting an international meeting on the prevention and control of the disease.
