Publications

As part of its role to set international standards and offer support to Member States, the WHO diabetes programme has an ongoing publishing programme, which extends back to its earliest report on diabetes mellitus issued in 1965.

Current WHO publications

Definition and diagnosis of diabetes mellitus and intermediate hyperglycaemia
This publication is an update of the 1999 WHO guidelines for the definition, diagnosis and classification of diabetes.
It reflects the evolving body of knowledge on the relationship between blood glucose levels and adverse health outcomes.
