An Informal Consultative Meeting for Diagnostic Manufacturing Associations, UN Procurement Agencies and WHO was held on 4 February 2009 at WHO Headquarters, Geneva. This was a first meeting which provided the opportunity for dialogue between manufacturing associations, UN procurement agencies and WHO regarding the prequalification of diagnostics.
WHO briefed participants on the differenet steps of the process, including: the application process, the dossier review, the manufacturing site inspection and the post-marketing surveillance activities. Participants asked questions and provided feedback. Manufacturing associations and UN procurement agencies presented their perspectives on prequalification.
