The Guidelines on health-related rehabilitation, currently under development, will provide recommendations to assist Member States and relevant stakeholders make informed decisions when building or strengthening rehabilitation systems. The research questions and subsequent recommendations of the guidelines are based around the building blocks of the health system: leadership and governance, service delivery, workforce, information systems, access to essential medicines/assistive technologies, and financing. The Guidelines on health-related rehabilitation therefore provide recommendations about systems-level implementation of rehabilitation as a health strategy, rather than specific rehabilitation interventions.
