Raising Awareness
In 1988, the World Health Assembly adopted a resolution which recognizes the public health importance of antimicrobial resistance and urges WHO and its Member States to undertake a number of actions in surveillance, education, and policy development and implementation.
In 2001, the World Health Assembly adopted a resolution which recommends that WHO support its Member States in the implementation of national efforts to contain and prevent resistance to antimicrobials.
