Marine oil supplementation during pregnancy

Marine oils contain essential omega-3 fatty acids, which may prevent pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia, preterm birth and low birth weight. There is not enough evidence to support the routine supplementation with fish oil during pregnancy, however women may benefit from fish oil supplementation to increase the length of gestation.
