How do I apply?
How to Apply
There are two ways you can apply to a WHO Vacancy Notice.
Online applications are strongly encouraged
Apply Online using the WHO e-Recruitment system –NEW!
The benefits of applying online allow you to:
- Create your own personal account for future visits.
- Return to view and update your personal history form at any time.
- Apply to more than one vacancy notice.
- Upload a cover letter, CV, photo, publications and other relevant documents.
- Monitor the status of vacancy notices for which you have applied.
- Receive e-mail correspondence about vacancy notices for which you have applied.
Online Applications
- You are strongly encouraged to apply to an advertised vacancy notice for which you consider you are qualified. Upon completion of the personal history form, online applications will be acknowledged via e-mail.
- To start the online application process, applicants are required to register online for a personal account.
- After opening the account, applicants may apply for vacancies using the WHO personal history form provided. Once the personal history form has been completed for a particular vacancy, it can be saved and used for future applications. The personal history form may be modified as necessary for future applications.
- All applications must be received before the vacancy notice closing deadline.
- Once an application has been submitted, it will be transmitted to the appropriate office for review.
Unsolicited applications for both Professional and General Service categories can be submitted via the e-Recruitment system.
To apply as an unsolicited applicant you must complete the following steps:
- First, create a personal account in the e-Recruitment system and complete your Personal History Form online.
- Second, choose and apply to the unsolicited category (P or GS) that best fits your profile.
Offline Applications
- Interested applicants who do not have Internet access, and are unable to submit an application online, may complete the WHO Personal History Form. (Download the WHO Personal History Form in English / French
- All offline applications should be submitted before the vacancy deadline to the address shown on the vacancy notice.
- All offline applications for general applications of employment should be directed to: Central Human Resources Services (HRC)

- Applicants may wish to retain copies of their completed personal history form for use for future applications.
We regret that due to the volume of applications received, receipt of offline paper applications cannot be acknowledged individually.
