Virtual Health Library
The Virtual Health Library (VHL) is a decentralized and dynamic collection of information sources developed by BIREME that aims to offer equitable access to scientific knowledge in health. The eight Portuguese-speaking countries have their own VHL, which can be accessed through the ePORTUGUÊSe VHL portal. Thus, these member states can upload and share health literature, events, legislation and policy documents.
Blue Trunk Library in Portuguese
The Blue Trunk Library (BTL) project was initially created in English and French by the WHO library. The BTL was extended to Portuguese in 2006 in collaboration with the ePORTUGUÊSe network and WHO Press and in partnership with the Ministry of Health of Brazil and the High Commissioner for Health in Portugal to be used in rural and district health centres in Portuguese-speaking countries as a way to compensate for the lack of up-to-date health information.
HIFA-pt Discussion Group
HIFA-pt is a discussion forum in Portuguese launched in November 2009 in Maputo, Mozambique. It is part of a global campaign called HIFA2015 (Healthcare Information for All by 2015), created in 2006 by the Global Healthcare Information Network to promote access to health information for those who need it. HIFA-pt is part of the ePORTUGUÊSe network. (To read it in Portuguese: click on the image)
