66 World Health Assembly - WHO EVIPNet technical support in evidence-informed policy-making in Member States

Session organized by the delegation of Burkina Faso and the WHO Secretariat.

EVIPNet is mostly the work of Member States. WHO promotes and provides technical support. We will hear about its usefulness in policy-making from participating Member States. Exists because Member States asked us to support Ministries of Health to promote policy-making informed by the best available scientific evidence.

This session will be able to share the best practices in evidence informed policy-making to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our health policies and programmes. I would like to thank WHO and all technical and financial partners which follow us for the development of health in our countries.

Dr Bocar KOUYATE, Adviser to Minister of Health, Ministry of Health Burkina Faso will present the work of EVIPNet Burkina Faso and EVIPNet Africa: their experience, lessons learned and successes in the transfer of evidence and knowledge to senior policymakers and improvement of health Evidence Informed Policy-Making.

Hon Joseph KASONDE, Minister of Health Zambia, Ministry of Health Zambia will present EVIPNet Zambia, how that works, what are the outcomes and how to share our experiences and practices in Evidence Informed Policy-Making and knowledge translation. The speech will be available very soon under video format
