Fifth session of the Intergovernmental
Negotiating Body

In decision FCTC/COP4(11), the Conference of the Parties (COP) extended the mandate of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) to a final session for the purpose of finalizing the text of a draft protocol to eliminate illicit trade in tobacco products. The COP also established an informal working group to work prior to the final session of the INB.

The fifth and final session of the INB will be held from Thursday 29 March to Wednesday 4 April 2012 at the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG). It will open at 11:00 on 29 March and is expected to close by 13:00 on 4 April. Meetings of the regional groups will be held from 09:00 to 10:30 on 29 March.
