A tale of two girls

Photo of baby girls

Inspired by The world health report 2003, this feature story contrasts the lives of two baby girls born in Japan and Sierra Leone, where average life expectancy for women differs by 50 years.

The report affirms that the key task of the global health community is to close the gap between such contrasting lives by providing the poorest people with greatly improved health care.
