The leading causes of child deaths from unintentional injuries are road traffic injuries and drowning. Developing sound transport policies, advocating for safer roads, and using child safety seats and belts in cars, protects children against road traffic injuries. Teaching children to swim, and supervising children at all times in or near to swimming areas and water bodies, prevents drowning. |
