"A week before the genocide started I had to go and seek a place of safety because my husband was a known Tutsi and it was not safe to walk in the streets. When I arrived at a friend's house I found the family murdered. The militia had taken over the house. They started questioning me, "Why are you here? What do you want?" I tried to leave but they wouldn't let me. Four men gang raped me throughout the day and next night."
