Garbage dumping yards - such as this one in Chennai, India - are the workplace and source of income for many poor people. But polluted air and unprotected contact with garbage causes multiple risks of infectious and other diseases. Labour, environment and health services need to ensure sound management of waste and work environment for protecting workers' health.
