Occupational hazards expose many workers to health risks. Shipbreaking is one of the most hazardous occupations with high risks due to exposure to asbestos and dangerous chemicals, accidents and contaminated environments. Maintaining the minimum standards for prevention and protection at such workplaces can substantially improve people's health and also prevent the loss of income due to injury.
