Polio vaccination along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border

Child being given polio drop, Afghanistan

A child from a nomadic family receives polio vaccine in a settlement in Kabul. Nomadic communities are at high risk for polio. They regularly move both within the country and across the border, and often live in areas that lack access to clean water and sanitation. Vaccination teams formed within the community help increase vaccination coverage among nomadic people.
