In Afghanistan's capital Kabul, Dr Chan visited the newly launched Malaria and Leishmaniasis Centre. "Reliable health data and statistics are the foundation of health policies, strategies, and evaluation and monitoring. The confidence of donors, nationally and internationally, depends on our ability to show measurable results," she later said at the 60th World Health Assembly.
