Guédiawaye district in suburban Dakar is one of the most populated areas of the Republic of Senegal. The health centre in the Roi Baudoin district serves 298 000 poor inhabitants - including 18 000 women of reproductive age - who often settle here on arrival from rural areas. The health centre can deal with complications during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
