The health centre is also a good example of integrated services. All women who come for antenatal care can attend informal classes on pregnancy, nutrition, hygiene and family planning. It was also the first site in Senegal for a pilot programme to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mothers to babies. It now provides treatment to HIV-positive mothers and children.
