Namibia: expanded antiretroviral treatment shows benefits

Preventing mother-to-child transmission is a major focus of HIV/AIDS prevention work. An estimated 420 000 children were newly infected with HIV in 2007; the vast majority were infected by their mothers during pregnancy or labour, or via breastfeeding.
