In Ethiopia, a boy stands outside a clinic after undergoing sight-restoring eye surgery for a congenital cataract. Congenital cataract, a major cause of childhood blindness, is a cloudiness or opacification on the lens of the eye that is present at birth. It can lead to permanent blindness.
