DISPLACED PEOPLE
Violence has displaced Somalis throughout the country. But west of Mogadishu in a roughly 20 kilometer-long strip of land known as the Afgooye Corridor, some 520 000 people who had been living in makeshift settlements have been uprooted yet again. The area is the world's most densely populated for displaced people. Limited access to health care and safe water and sanitation are grave concerns for these people.
