Immunization week helps vaccinate millions
Immunization week protects people against major diseases such as diphtheria, hepatitis A and B, measles, pneumococcal disease, polio, rotavirus and tetanus. For the first time, this year immunization week took place in about 180 countries and territories simultaneously. In Africa alone, 75 million children, women and men from 22 countries were vaccinated against polio.
