New Town, a slum built on reclaimed land by Aberdeen Bay, is constantly inundated with tidal waters, rainwater, rubbish and sewage draining from communities further up the hill. This young girl collects water from a rubbish-filled water hole, putting herself at high risk of diarrhoeal diseases, including cholera.
