National TB emergency

Benedict Xaba, Minister of Health of Swaziland, has lost two brothers to TB, both contracted the disease while working in the mines. He has been championing the fight against TB since he took office, including spearheading a national emergency declaration on TB launched by the Prime Minister in 2011. This declaration was vital in securing high-level political commitment and increased local financing to fight TB.
