Half of the world's population is at risk of malaria

Every year, 3.2 billion people are at risk of malaria. This leads to about 198 million malaria cases (uncertainty range: 124 million to 283 million) and an estimated 584 000 malaria deaths (uncertainty range: 367 000 to 755 000). People living in the poorest countries are the most vulnerable.
