New extensively resistant strain of tuberculosis
A new extensively resistant strain of tuberculosis -- XDR TB -- is causing high rates of death among people living with HIV in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. Experts are concerned that if this trend continues, past progress with tuberculosis treatment could be at risk.
