Dr Frederick James Angulo
Chief of the Global Disease Detection Branch in the Division of Global Disease Detection and Emergency Response, Center for Global Health, at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USA
Dr Angulo is a medical epidemiologist trained in veterinary medicine and public health. Dr Angulo is currently the Chief of the Global Disease Detection Branch in the Division of Global Disease Detection and Emergency Response, Center for Global Health, at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USA. Previously, he served as Associate Director of Science in the National Center for Environmental Health at the CDC. Dr Angulo's research interest areas are food safety particularly related to chemicals and toxins, foodborne illness burden of illness studies, environmental health, and antimicrobial resistance. Dr Angulo has a DVM and Masters of Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis, and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California at Los Angeles.
