Dr Danilo Lo Fo Wong

Dr Lo Fo Wong is an epidemiologist and holds a MSc in biology from the Wageningen Agricultural University, Wageningen, The Netherlands, and a PhD in veterinary epidemiology from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark. His work concerns international collaboration on foodborne pathogens and disease surveillance and the promotion of multi-disciplinary and intersectoral communication and collaboration in food safety. His research and teaching expertise lies in foodborne disease epidemiology, integrated surveillance, outbreak investigation, risk assessment, foodborne illness attribution and antimicrobial resistance in bacteria of animal origin. He was the coordinator of the Global Foodborne Infections Network (GFN) between 2007 and 2011. He is currently the Senior Adviser Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) for the WHO Regional Office for Europe where his main focus will be on the implementation of the European strategic action plan on antibiotic resistance.
