Third Session Ad Hoc Codex Intergovernmental Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance
The third session of the Ad Hoc Codex Intergovernmental Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance will take place 10-17 October 2009 on Jeju Island, Republic of Korea. During this session draft guidelines on risk analysis of foodborne antimicrobial resistance

Mid-term review of the Codex Trust Fund
The FAO/WHO Project and Fund for Enhanced Participation in Codex (Codex Trust Fund) is currently seeking (an) independent evaluator(s) to conduct a mid-term review of the Codex Trust Fund project. The Call for Expression of Interest detailing the

Foodborne Disease Stakeholder Event
Since the launch of the WHO Initiative to Estimate the Global Burden of Foodborne Diseases and its expert group FERG (Foodborne Disease Burden Epidemiology Reference Group) in 2007, WHO has been holding annual stakeholder event in connection with formal FERG meetings. This year's Stakeholder Event will be held on 29 October 2009 at WHO in Geneva and will focus on fostering the links between the food safety research and policy communities. Partners from all WHO Member States, bi- and multilateral agencies, scientific networks, policy think tanks, relevant industries, donors, foundations, consumer groups as well as the media are welcome to the meeting where preliminary foodborne disease burden results are presented and discussed, and an opportunity for dialogue is provided. JECFA and JMPR - Upcoming Meetings and Calls for data
The 2009 JMPR is being held 16-25 September in Geneva. The draft agenda is published on the WHO web site: www.who.int/ipcs/food/jmpr/future_agendas/jmpr_2009_agenda.pdf. The electronic summary report will be published shortly after the meeting and will be accessible under: www.who.int/ipcs/food/jmpr/summaries/en.
The 72nd JECFA meeting will be held 16-25 February 2010 in Rome. The meeting is dedicated to the following contaminants: acrylamide, arsenic, deoxynivalenol, furan, perchlorate and total mercury. The call for data is still open and accessible at: www.who.int/ipcs/food/jecfa/jecfa72.pdf.
The 73rd JECFA meeting will be held 8-17 June 2010 in Geneva. The meeting is dedicated to the evaluation of flavouring substances and to the re-evaluation of cadmium and lead. The call for data is accessible at: www.who.int/ipcs/food/jecfa/data/en.

Vacancy in the WHO Department of Nutrition for Health and Development
The WHO Department of Nutrition for Health and Development in Geneva is currently searching for a nutrition scientist at P4 level (2 year fixed-term post). This is part of WHO's efforts in strengthening scientific advice on diet, nutrition and health, and supporting countries in developing and implementing evidence-based food and nutrition policies and programmes to address to address the increasing problem of double burden of malnutrition throughout the life course.
