Participant
Description and how to join
A participant is described as follows:
- Inter-governmental organizations, including the World Health Organization, and
- Non-governmental organizations (excluding industry associations/umbrella organizations representing manufacturers of diagnostic reagents, devices, drugs or other products or services relevant to the surveillance, prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases), with an active involvement in the surveillance, prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases:
- Professional associations:
- Respiratory
- Allergy
- Primary care
- Pharmacists, physiotherapists, nurses and other health professional associations
- Specific disease-related groups
- Pediatrics
- Patients organizations
- Governmental institutions and agencies involved in the surveillance, prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases;
- WHO Collaborating Centres active in the surveillance, prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases; and
- Foundations active in the surveillance, prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases.
Role of a participant:
- Participate in the discussions and deliberations of the General Meeting on GARD strategic decisions.
- Right to vote in the decision-making process.
How to join GARD as participant?
Your organization falls under the category of participant and you are interested in joining GARD? Please do send us your application form as well as the following documentation attached:
- Introduction form
- Constitution / Terms of Reference
- Last financial report
- Declaration of intent to attend GARD meetings on a regular basis
- One-page proposal (max 500 words) for technical projects to be developed within GARD
GARD secretariat will evaluate the application according to the following criteria:
- Credibility of the organization
- Present infrastructure / Staffing in place
- Financial base for support of activities
- Technical capabilities
