GARD Portugal News
Between 2007 and 2011 the main target of GARD Portugal was the presentation and dissemination of the activities produced by the stakeholders which participated in the project. The official recognition of the Ministry of Health (Direcção Geral de Saúde), the support of SPAIC (Sociedade Portuguesa de Alergologia e Imunologia Clínica) secretariat and the creation of GARD Portugal web site made it possible to achieve these aims.
In 2012 the strategy will be the new National Programme on Chronic Respiratory Diseases under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, which will replace the past National Asthma and COPD Programmes. This new programme will be based on GARD strategy and the GARD National Coordinator will be a Programme Executive Committee member. In the future GARD Portugal activities will be centralised in this new project (2012-2016).
